12 new horse photo online greeting cards added

Two wonderfully generous ladies sent me a few gorgeous horse pictures that I turned into free greeting cards that you can send over the Internet.

Carolyn Grant has a rare black, Egyptian Arabian stallion named, “Saud El Zaghloul”, nicknamed “Z”. He is a dream – tall, dark, handsome, and exotic! Yep, good looking Arabian horses make my heart beat faster. Wish I could see him in the flesh. I added six new horse ecards from five of Z’s photos. They are posted in the following ecard categories: Arabian Horses, Friendship, Wise Words, Happy Holidays, Birthday, and Beauty.

“Z is doing great & just came back from The Miner Institute, NY, where he goes for the breeding season. We are enjoying long trail rides now and we are training over fences again. He’s happy,” says Carolyn Grant.

Deb Komro of Madison WI sent me some great horse pictures. Galloping photo of her paint horse, “Comanche” who has one brown eye and one blue eye. She also sent me a photo of her past paint horse, “Commander” who had a large white blaze on his face. A wonderful photo of “Miss Sonny” a palomino (color) Quarter Horse galloping and a delightful picture of friend Kristen Traino and her Percheron draft horse Sophie. Deb’s friend Kouros Farro took some of the photos using a Nikon camera. Deb’s photos have been made into cards for the following card categories: Thank you, Happy Birthday, and Friendship.

I’ve already put on a lot of miles on the photo e-cards you added to your website. Everyone loves them!!! Thanks for everything! You are the best!!!

By the way, the stars of these new horse photo ecards are rescued mares and foals that Marian Mastin of Adopt A Foal has up for adoption! Hard to believe that such beauties end up needing to be rescued and placed up for adoption, but it happens all the time. So please reconsider breeding your horses unless they are the best and you know that you can find great home for them. Please check out all the horses and foals up for adoption at Adopt A Foal Right now she has three sweet as candy foals and three mares that need loving homes.

Postcards are great for marketing your horse business.

In my article  “Focusing your words to sell” I mentioned that postage rates will rise. A sharp business person will want to do a little marketing before the postage increase and Postcards are cheaper than letters to send out and the image on the front does draw attention — specially if it is a great looking horse image.

If you have a large list then you will want to have your marketing postcards commercially printed. But if you are just starting out and your list is small you could design and print your own postcards right from your computer and printer.

Here are a few helpful tips to get your started on designing and self printing your own postcards:

• You can design and print your postcards from your Microsoft Word program.
  This will allow you to customize each one if you like and merge your mailing list to them too.
• You can save on ink costs considerably if you keep your design background white and ink coverage low. Light pastel colors also use up less ink than bright dark colors.
• Save time by taking the time to learn how to do it right. Read this helpful article: “Stamp Out the 10 Most Common Postcard Marketing Mistakes” by Patricia Schaefer
• Avery (free) Templates & Software and the Avery Wizard for Microsoft Word
• Many printing inks are NOT water proof and will smear if they get damp or wet! You don’t want your postcard receivers to end up with a smeared abstract. You can print with Epson printers and their special DURABrite Ink that is water, smudge, and light resistance.
