Several talented and accomplished country music artists, along with Buck Brannaman, internationally renowned horseman (The Horse Whisperer) and best-selling author (The Faraway Horses, Believe) have come together to create an inspirational compilation of songs, spoken word and poetry on a CD produced exclusively to benefit Little Bit.

On Horses’ Wings conveys a strong message about the relationship between horses and people and the life lessons we learn through developing that amazing partnership. At the same time, the music will lift your spirits and entertain you with beautiful songs of horses and a simpler, less complicated life.

Patti Hall, long-time Little Bit volunteer and supporting patron, is the Executive Producer and driving force on the CD project. Inspired by a song she heard, James Cain’s He’s Gonna Run, Patti engaged several country music friends from Nashville and the Northwest including Wylie & The Wild West, two time Grammy nominee Mary Ann Kennedy, platinum selling songwriter Templeton Thompson and XM Radio Outlaw Country number one hit artist Antsy McClain to contribute their songs. An accomplished recording artist herself, Patti received the 2007 Breakthrough Country Artist of the Year at the New Music Awards in Hollywood last November.

To pull this all together Patti called upon the horseman she respected the most, Buck Brannaman, to share his philosophy about horses and people, and how mutual respect, humility, kindness and patience can hold the key to peaceful and satisfying co-existence in all relationships.

To top it all off, another long-time Little Bit volunteer and supporting patron, Kerry Anderson, has donated her incredible artwork to the CD, and it is gorgeous! Buck Brannaman, the country music artists and Patti Hall have all donated their time and recording costs to this project. The Eclectic Horseman has donated all graphic production and all fulfillment and distribution costs.

This means that all proceeds of this CD will go directly to Little Bit. On Horses’ Wings will be released on November 15 and available through e-commerce by contacting http://www.littlebit.org.

Great gift idea for your horse and music loving friends and family

Mary Ann Kennedy just sent me an email about her two new songs and a special CD sale. I have both of Mary Ann’s music CDs, “Hoofbeats, Heartbeats and Wings” and “The Trail Less Traveled“ and love them both equally. Her songs really go straight to my heart. I love songs about horses and to find CDs with more than one horse song on them is a total delight.

When a singer is passionate about horses and music she cannot help but make music that moves people.

WOW, has this year flown by for you all..or is it just me!? I know getting a bit more mature (ah humm) they say the time flies. Could that possibly be it?

I think it is also when you are living your truth, having a blast and sharing with folks on the same path…it happens…time does fly when you are having FUN! I have had a fruitful year full of making great music once again with the stellar Emmylou Harris, (and with my dear friend and cohort, Pam Rose) as well as writing my 3rd upcoming CD AND a 4th music CD.

Because of time issues, more horses and responsibilities, I delayed the release until 2008.
I did, however, finish 2 new cuts, debuted them at the Parelli Savvy Conference in September.

I discovered Mary Ann Kennedy’s music while watching a Parelli horse show on RFDTV. They were playing one of her songs while training the horses and I was hooked! As soon as the show was over I got on the Internet, did a search, and found her website. She is so creative and writes her own songs. If you haven’t heard of Mary Ann before you really need to go listen to a few of the song samples.

Music about horses really gets me smiling and happy and that is actually good for my brain. Well I going to go listen to her CDs again now! Please leave a comment about how good music and songs make you feel.
