I tell people everything about a horse before they buy from me, the good and the bad. I want them to know that if there are going to be any surprises they will be surprises to both of us. I believe that such business practices will set me apart and even bring me more business. I also understand that my attitude about this is not the norm for the industry. For too long, buyer beware has been the name of the game. And yet those same people who employ such tactics are right there whining about the decline in the market. What kind of effect do you think those negative tactics have had on the market? I, for one, know a number a people who have had a bad experience and so have given up horses altogether. That being said, a horse is a living and breathing animal - so its a dynamic creature subject to possible changes to its health, and injuries.
