Hi,
I’ve started a project site for equine related businesses called EquiLocal.com and would like to invite comments from anyone about this site’s concept.
While initially this appears to be a web directory, I would like to demonstrate that this site has the potential to be much more. While the information in other web directories is generally very static (seldom changing), I’ve taken the approach that information about businesses should be dynamic (ever changing). While doing my own research online, I
noticed too often that business information tends to be outdated.EquiLocal.com uses wiki software. “A Wiki is a website that allows the visitors themselves to easily add, remove, and otherwise edit and change some available content, sometimes without the need for registration.”.
There are many pros and cons about this approach, but I really like the fact that if information is wrong or outdated it can be changed immediately.
I look forward to your comments and hope that EquiLocal.com flourishes in 2007 with its visitor’s help.
Scott
After you list your business on the above web site you might also want to search the net for other places where you can list your horse business and gain more exposure for it. Traffic and sales come from business exposure!
Try doing an Internet search for:
- Free Horse Business Classifieds
- Horse Web Directory
- Equine Directory
Business Listing Tips:
Before you post your listing make sure to spend a bit of time working on your business description so it will stand out and draw people to want to clink on your link crowded between the other listings. Remember people are looking for what is in it for them, so list top benefits.
Copy and paste the URL (website address) of where you are listing your business and the date added in a text or word file so that you can go back and check on your listing from time to time or when your business info needs updating. Keeping good business records helps you run a better business.
Do not forget to add ‘Check Biz Listing’ to your business calendar / schedule too - quarterly checking is good for most horse companies.
