A large list of Horse Blogs
I have just discovered a gold mine of Horse Blogs
If you read my post “Five good reasons why you should start a blog” I gave you a few reasons for starting a blog for your horse business. You may have thought, “Hey that sounds like a good idea, but where to start, what to write about, and how do I pick out my blog categories”?
Well I think that the first step should be to check out and read some postings at a few horse blogs that relate to whatever you are passionate about with horses.
I did a some quick Internet surfing and found this wonderfully large and varied Horse Blogs List at the Bridlepath blog. Doris gave me permission to repost her huge list here. And I have added to it too. She also would love if you’d check out her equestrian blog too.
Note that all the links below will open in a new bowser window.
Horse Book Author Blogs
- Cliffy’s Mom’s Blog By the shores of Gitchee Gumee by the shining Big-Sea-Water, came a little red horse! …Or something like that. Clifford is the star of the true horse story, “Clifford of Drummond Island” and the sequel, “Return to Manitou.” What started out as bloglike ramblings became a book, so never underestimate the power of the written word!
“Great horse books and loved her dog ebook too.” - Joni Solis
- Box of Stars: Young Riders Series, Book One When a riding accident with her beloved, steel grey thoroughbred shatters Olivia’s confidence, the rest of her life starts falling apart, too. Will the “box of stars” that holds Olivia’s dream of making the national Young Riders team be closed forever? Or can cute Will Winfield’s own secret fear inspire Olivia to get back in the saddle–and back to her dreams?

I have been on the mailing list of your newsletters( which I absolutely love) for about a year, I didn’t know you had a blog as well. I started one a little over a month ago and I’m having a blast writing it. Keep up the great work!

Well, I certainly appreciate the “linky love”, but I’m not completely sure that I would call my blog a horse blog. I write about horses and I express my opinions about certain aspects of the industry, but really it’s only part of a larger blog.
Just wanted to make sure that people clicking over had some sort of idea what they were getting into. I have a category on the home page entitled “Horses” for those who are interested.

Dear GP,
I added your blog to the list and checked it out. So glad you are telling people about growing and eating organic (real) food! All of us that own a horse can put that wonderful manure to work and become healthier.
Our horses would be healthier too if kept on organic pasture instead of in stalls and over fed grain grown with man-made fertilizers and weed-killers. I know this is not possible for everyone but it is what is best.

I really enjoyed preparing this blog. Number one, it’s so much fun to see the videos of our stall horses enjoying themselve.. and it’s so good to know that the horse toys are releaving stress and anxiety for our precious friends. Hope you like it.

Okay, here’s a new one, I think. I hope anyway.
I have posted my young adult , horse-centric novel as a blog (http://boxofstarsanastasiaburke.blogspot.com:80). It’s free of ads, free of swearing, free of explicit situations for the teens, just a good, solid story about a girl trying to make it the top with her beloved horse.
I’m trying to get feedback on the story. I’m posting a chapter a week and so far, I don’t have a clue if anyone is visitng.
I’m not trying to make money off it–it’s just nice knowing that it might brig some pleasure.
Does anyone out there know if there are other “book blogs?”
Thanks,
Anastasia

If you would like, you can add my blog http://ozolkalni.blogspot.com/ to the list - it is all about me (46) starting to discover the world of horses. Since January 2008 I had never even been inside the horse box, never were even interested to ride, but life is full of surprises. English is not my native so writing is far from desirable, but I presume it is some fun.

Hi,
I love all the links!
I blog my adventures on Utah trails, as well as our experiences as horsekeepers on a small acreage. If you feel it’s appropriate, I’d love to have Janie and Steve’s Utah Trails be included on your “general horse blog” list. uthappytrails.blogspot.com
