Making the most of your Business Signs

I just read an article about a sign company in my local electric company newspaper. It quoted the sign shop owner as saying that a good sign ran about $2,500 in 1975 and that now company signs can run as high as $100,000.

So what did you budget for your horse business sign?

I have seen some horse farm signs that looked like they didn’t pay more than their child’s weekly allowance and had their child paint their sign! Well, that is probably better than not having a sign at all (not by much), which I am sad to say is too often the case.

The article also quoted the sign shop owner as saying that your company sign is your business’s single most important identifying symbol, marking your location, and Read the rest of this entry »

Using creativity to draw attention to your business

Your next creative marketing idea might come in the mail!

A friend recently sent me an email with a lot of photos of creative mailboxes. I thought, “What a great idea to draw attention to a horse business!” So I did a quick Google search and found sites with creative mailbox photos. Some of the photos on Sam’s Mailbox Pictures where of the same ones emailed to me. This is long web page full of intriguing and creative mailbox photos. Some of these creative mailbox creations should boost your creative thinking on your horse business marketing!

Think about it, what are you doing to draw some attention to your horse business? Do you have a nice sign posted up? Is it large enough and creative enough to draw some looks? Do you have a plain boring mailbox when you could have an eye catcher? Read the rest of this entry »

EFT For Equestrians

Do you still have the Boogie Man after you?

The Boogie Man is not real but he could still get your hair to raise on the back of your neck and your heart pounding. Most of just have never out grown the Boogie Man’s fears. We just push them deep and deny them.

What am I talking about?

Well, think of all the times that you have let fear creep up and steal something from you. Let me help you remember when…

Think about the time you thought you and your horse were really doing well together and you entered a horse show. And then that Boogie Man crept upon your shoulder and pickled your mind with thoughts and soon your legs Read the rest of this entry »

Equine Poem, Kissing a Horse

Many horse poems seem to have a special soul touching feeling about them.

I just found this lovely poem about a man kissing his horse and connecting to his horse’s wonderful spirit. It is good to take the time to find and read a poem from time to time in our too busy lives. It gives us the sweet touch of connecting to a creative person and feeling part of what they felt on a subject that they felt passionate enough to write a poem about it.

Sometimes being business owners we feel that we don’t have the time to read for just enjoyment, that our reading has to be on business subjects only. But studies have shown Read the rest of this entry »

Be open to change

Delivering ideas, inspiration, and practical marketing information specifically for Equine Related Businesses.

June 2007; Issue #6 Joni Solis, Editor

Sorry for this huge delay in getting my monthly newsletter out to you! My computer which is only three years old (does that equal 85 in human years?) caused me major headaches with serious errors and freezing nearly daily. So I purchased a new Dell computer with Window’s Vista.

Then the fun really began! I had to figure out how to get everything from my old computer to my new one and then I find out that many of my programs need to be updated to work on vista and some will not work at all. Even some of my hardware (printer and scanner) needs to be replaced.

Change, it is not a four letter word but it sure can cause us so much fear, pain, time, and money. I put off buying a new computer because I knew it meant all of this. But change is life and there is no use trying to stop it. I have to make adjustments and learn to go with the flow of change and that in the long run I will see that change was needed and is good.

Are you open to change?

Maybe it is time to rethink your Read the rest of this entry »
